The AMIGOS Trial: Optimal Treatment for Couples With Unexplained Infertility
Many couples struggle with unexplained infertility. Ovarian stimulation is a common approach to treatment, but questions remain about which agent is most effective.
In the AMIGOS trial, researchers compared gonadotropins, clomiphene citrate, and letrozole for the purpose of ovarian stimulation. Conception and live birth rates were significantly lower in the letrozole group, compared with gonadotropins and clomiphene. However, the rate of multiple births was greater with gonadotropins than with clomiphene citrate or letrozole.
